Welcome to the Corson’s Inlet Bridge (Ocean Drive (CR61)) Local Concept Development Study website!

Cape May County, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is performing a Local Concept Development (LCD) Study for a major rehabilitation or complete replacement of the Corson’s Inlet Bridge connecting Ocean City to Strathmere in Upper Township along Ocean Drive (CR61). An LCD Study is the first phase of the Local Project Delivery Process for transportation improvements using federal funding. The purpose of the LCD is to evaluate sensible and practical alternatives which will address deficiencies and provide a safer and more efficient crossings all modes of transportation. The LCD Phase is anticipated to be completed by early 2027. The next phase of design will be Local Preliminary Engineering which is tentatively scheduled to begin by Fall 2027.
